These cards were made at our team meeting I planned last week, highlighting the stamp set, Build-a-Blossom, matching punch and the Brights Collection.

The layout of these cards is CASEd from a sample shown to us as Leadership.  I loved it when I saw it displayed, and had to replicate it – in serveral colors: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red.

Here are some more samples I’ve prepared with this same stamp set and punch – they will be used for stamp club projects in February:

Another card CASEd from the display boards at Leadership.   Here’s a close-up, so you can see the sparkly glitter:

Supplies used:

stamps – Build a Blossom

Paper and ink – Pretty in Pink, Rose Red (craft ink), Old Olive, Greenhouse Gala DSP

Accessories – Irridescent Ice EP, Blossoms Petals punch, antique brads, framed tulips embossing folder and Big Shot

Supplies used:

stamps – Build a Blossom, Afterthoughts

paper and ink – Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Newsprint DSP, Real Red ink

First up…the make n takes demonstrators were treated to during the last hours of Leadership:

All projects were made with our free stamp set, Clearly For You – it can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalogue.

The conference ended on Friday, but Chris and I had extended our trip to Nashville so we could spend some time exploring the area.

First up, the Pancake Pantry for breakfast.  This is a little diner-type restaurant located in downtown Nashville that has been a landmark for the city for 50 years.  The line-up at the door to get in is legendary.  We arrived at 8:30 a.m. and waited in line for 25 minutes – that early on a Saturday morning!  Incredible!  It was worth it though, the sweet potato pancakes with cinnamon cream syrup, really hit the spot and helped us keep going strong well into the afternoon.

Then we headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame and spent a couple hours there enjoying the exhibits.  I had forgotten just how much exposure to the early country favorites I had had as a child from my grandpa Ben!

Next stop was the Grand Ole Opry which has been closed for a few weeks, so we headed to this place… Carnton Plantation.

This home was built by the McGavock family in 1826 and on November 30, 1864, the acres surrounding it became the land for the battle of Franklin during the Civil War in which thousands were wounded or killed.  That night, the house became the battlefield hospital and years later, the land became the Confederate Cemetery for those who died there.

As we walked and explored the home and area, we really felt a reverence for the McGavock family and what they did for their fellowmen during the Civil War.  We brought home books so we could research this incredible family and learn more about them – can’t wait for a bit of free time!

Our long day ended here, the Loveless Cafe, as all weekend evenings in Nashville should.  There is quite a story about this little cafe and its legendary patrons.  We have never eaten so much amazing food!!  Creamed spinach, sweet potatoes, creamed corn, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, country ham and biscuits…lots and lots of biscuits with homemade jams – incredible!!  It would have been a crime to leave room for dessert – so we didn’t.

I’ve been working on some new stamp set samplers, so check back this week for some new stamped projects!

Stampin’ Up! has some amazing creative artists at the home office.  I took some photos of only a small portion of the projects that were made for the “Wall of Creativity”.  They have used Stampin’Up! products in unusual ways – take a look at some of these pieces:

The new Build a Cupcake punch in the Occasions Mini

The new Fun Flowers die, also in the Occasions Mini – I have to get that!

All the new stamp sets in the Occasions Mini and SAB brochure, were on display like this!  Spots were cut out of books and stamps and blocks inserted perfectly – who thinks of these things!

Flag made from the Vintage Flower Adornments in the Occasions Mini Catalogue.

We were treated to another sit-down catered lunch, amazing classes, gifts galore and excitement for what we do!  I feel so spoiled by Stampin’ Up!  and very grateful to be associated with them – they are super fun to work with!

Here is another treat I made for Becky and Kim:

These little pillow boxes were made to hold some chocolates that you can’t find in the US – Aero’s.  I used the Eat Chocolate stamp set, markers and Decorative Label punch.

Some more favorite swaps I received this week:

Leadership conference ended with make and takes with our new stamp set Clearly For You.  We made some fun projects…I’ll show them to you tomorrow!

Thursday morning started very early with all of us meeting for a breakfast while Shelli gave us our instructions for the day.  With breakfast in hand and my schedule in the other, I trekked off to my classes for some great information.

Shelli, opening the conference in front of the “+ONE” giant conference logo.  And then my turn…

Here is the Leadership conference bag we all received with our schedule and other treasures in it:

How pretty, hey!  I was able to purchase the matching wallet later in the evening from Memento Mall along with some other things.  I’ve already moved everything over to this bag so it can be my purse for a while – it’s too sweet!

Lunch was spent with new friends, getting to know each other:

Kim Sinclair, me, Becky Roberts

Natasha, Louise, Jenilyn, (all from Canada) and Laura

The afternoon was filled with more information being thrown at me than my little brain could comprehend in one day!!  Really great information though!!

In the evening, we enjoyed a sit down supper on Stampin’ Up! and made some cards for the Ronald McDonald House charity which was a bit stressful!  Each table received a box of odds and ends and everyone was to create a work of art – just like that and right now!  You weren’t even garanteed coordinating cardstock and ink.  I totally forgot to take a photo of my finished project though…

One of the highlights of any Stampin’Up! conference has to be Memento Mall where demos can purchase Stampin’ Up! logo merchandise – remember the wallet?

This pretty travel mug also founds it way into my shopping bag along with some bookmarks and a purse holder.

Just as the evening was about to end and I was dead on my feet, one last surprise was in store…I was chosen (along with several others at the same time) for a prize!!  Look at what I won:

That got my blood flowing again!!  I’m so excited to use this set and punch, Build a Blossom set and Blossom Petals Punch found in the new Occasions Mini Catalogue!

Wow!  What an incredible week I just had!

I wish to take some time over the next few days and share with you some of the most important happenings of the past week:

The day of Manager’s Reception, Wednesday, I was able to spend with Chris.  We got in some great shopping which includes me visiting my favorite clothing store, Christopher & Banks.  In fact, I pretty much only buy clothes when I’m in the US now, cause I love that store so much!

We had researched restaurants in Nashville on the Food Network website, before we came, so we would know the best places to eat while there.  Wow, do they ever know where to eat!!!  We had lunch at a little “hole in the wall”diner called “Jack’s BBQ”.  The place hasn’t been updated since the 1970’s, food or decor, but we are so glad.  It was the most amazing pulled pork dinner that can be imagined!!

I then met up with a couple of new friends and headed off to Manager’s Reception:

That’s the amazingly beautiful and talented lady, Shelli Gardner, introducing the evenings events

Demonstrators enjoying the line dancing to live entertainment – it’s so neat to see everyone in matching cowboy hats, compliments of Stampin’ Up!  They sure know how to throw a party!  No, I did not dance, I was too busy visiting with new friends and eating pulled pork BBQ again, for the second time in one day!

Look what I received!  The cutest magnets and wrapped chocolate bars from Becky Roberts.  She has posted details on these projects on her blog if you want them.  How cute are these???!!!

This amazing little creation was given to me by my new wonderful friend Kim Sinclair. The small details in this project make it one of my favorite things EVER!  Look at the details in this project – from the tiny red envelope tied by silver string, to the rhinestone accent before the word LOVE at the bottom!  I’m in awe Kim – I bow to you!!!

Over the next few days, I will share a sampling of the swaps I received during the three days in Nashville.

Here are the first few cards:

by Carol Stofer

by Natasha Hein, another new friend and fellow Canadian, living in BC

This has to be my favorite!  It was made by Allison Okamitsu, a demo who I met last year and lives only minutes from me.  We had no idea we would see each other at Leadership again!!  So nice to visit with her again.

I’ll be back tomorrow with more Leadership and swap photos.

TTFN!

What an amazing day at Leadership conference today!  We were exposed to non-stop fun and excitement, which lasted about 14 hours!  I’m happy to be sitting in my very quiet hotel room writing this very short post before I crash into my bed!  Incidentally, our hotel room has a king sized bed in it, with one of those “sleep number” mattresses.

You know the ones, you can decide how soft or hard you want each side of the mattress to be…

Well, I picked a number out of a hat last night as I was laying there…it felt like a good choice at the time…

…this morning, my lower back was screaming at me!!  I’ll choose a different number tonight and see how it goes…

…I’m just anxious to get back to my own bed with my memory foam top…

…moving on…

Here is a little something I made for Becky Roberts and Kim Sinclair, my leadership buddies this week (please excuse the bad hotel lighting for these photos):

I made them each a Trapezoid Purse and filled them with Coffee Crisp chocolate bars – they apparently don’t have these in the US.

Supplies used:

Stamps – Eat Chocolate

Paper and Ink – Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Pawsitively Prints II DSP, Chocolate Chip

Accessories – Pear Pizzazz poly-stitched ribbon, 1 3/4″circle punch, Scallop Die #2 and Big Shot, 1/8″hole punch, dimensionals
