BlogHopHoliday2014Welcome

You may have just arrived here from Connie Babbert’s blog as we, the designers for the Create With Connie and Mary Holiday Collection, wind up each of the four weeks with a blog hop!  And this week marks the fourth and final week of this session – so sad – but I’m SO pleased with all the gift giving and decorating ideas I now have for this holiday season!  The projects and tutorials were all amazing!!

My project and tutorial this week uses this, my favorite stamp set of the Holiday Catalogue, Wondrous Wreath, so here is another idea for this stamp set:

Wondrous Wreath sample-3

This card is quick and easy as it requires no cutting with framelits or punching.  I stamped the wreath images onto white cardstock and added a ribbon bow for some texture.  Should you require many Christmas cards this year, this is a card you could mass produce with ease!!

You may be wondering where I found such thin Cherry Cobbler ribbon…

…well, I used the 1″ sheer linen ribbon in the catalogue and sliced off a 6″ length of the edging and then tied that into a bow. 🙂

Supplies used:

Stamps – Wondrous Wreath

Ink & Paper – Trim the Tree DSP, Pistachio Pudding, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White

Accessories – corner rounder punch, Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon

I hope you enjoy our blog  hop today and are now ready to get started on your cards and holiday gifts!  But wait…you aren’t done yet…follow the link below to continue on to Bronwyn Eastley’s blog and see what she has created for today!

Endless Wishes sample-3

I was SOOOOO happy when the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set we were introduced to late last season, became available AGAIN this year in the Holiday Catalogue!  I did not end up getting it last year so it’s pretty new to me and I was excited to get it out to create this weeks blog hop project!

I created a soft snowflake background by white embossing the snowflakes onto Crumb Cake cardstock and then sponging the edges with white ink.  I used some embossing folders on the cardstock banners along with glimmer paper.  And of course…rhinestones always finish things off nicely. 🙂

It’s a pretty easy card to put together but I really am happy with it’s beautiful simplicity.  What are you inspired to create this week?

Supplies used:

Stamps – Endless Wishes

Ink & Paper – Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Glimmer Paper

Accessories – white embossing powder, rhinestone gems, Decorative Label punch, oval punch, dimensional, baker’s twine

OK…so now continue on with the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Collection 2014 Designer blog hop for more holiday inspiration!  Next up is Bronwyn Eastley!

BlogHopHoliday2014Welcome

You’ve probably just arrived from Connie Babbert’s blog after viewing her Holiday inspiration!  She’s pretty awesome, isn’t she?!

I’ve had much fun with the Festival of Trees stamp set this week so couldn’t resist using it for my challenge project as well!

Festival of Trees sample-6

I was dying to try my new Confetti Stars punch and am quite happy with it as an angle punch on this card!  This led me to a non traditional color combination of Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red.  Not all Christmas cards need to be red and green, right?! 🙂

Supplies used:

Stamps – Festival of Trees

Ink & Paper – Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red

Accessories – Big Shot & filigree frame embossing folder, Confetti Stars punch, dimsnional

Now you’re off to visit designer Bronwyn Eastley – I know I’m excited to see what she has for us today!

HolidayCardHopWelcome

Welcome!!  You’ve probably just arrived from Connie Babbert’s blog as you travel through our Week 1 Blog Hop for the Holiday Card “Create”tions session!  She’s so incredibly awesome and I’m glad to be associated with the “Create With Connie and Mary” team.  At the end of each week during this session, the designers are putting together a blog hop to showcase some fun products in the Holiday Catalogue for you!  It’s not too late to join this Holiday Card “Create”tion – just visit Create With Connie and Mary to sign up and view the card sets from week 1!

This week, we are experimenting with the Takeout Boxes featured on page 10 of the Holiday Catalogue and designing a fall/Halloween project.  As with each Saturday Blog Hop Challenge, he Takeout Boxes Challenge is for everyone to see!  Here’s what I made:

Holiday Cards 2014 Challenge Week 1-3

How cute it this?!  I’m in love with the mummies, the banner on the front and especially the acetate specialty card in front of the orange cardstock.  And the box itself holds SO many little treats!  I’m going to put mine up around my front door for any visitors that might stop by in October. 🙂

To make this project, I assembled the takeout box but cut off three of the top flaps leaving one of the larger ones attached.   Then I attached a piece of black cardstock to the front and back of this flap to create a base for my accessories.

I created decorative panels for the sides and front of the box with black cardstock and Sahara sand DSP.

The mummies are various sizes of Sahara Sand circles cut with the Circles Framelits and the Big Shot.  I cut thin strips of white cardstock and layered them over the circles leaving space for some eyes to peek through.  The eyes were made with various circle punches.

The remaining embellishments are all from the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Accessory Pack.  This is found on page 35 of the Holiday Catalogue.  I’ve found it to be a handy tool in creating some fall/Halloween/Christmas projects!  And by using this kit, it was so easy to quickly put this project together with coordinating supplies!!

Holiday Cards 2014 Challenge Week 1-2

I hope my project today has inspired you to create something fun with a takeout box!

Supplies used:

Stamps – NONE!

Ink & Paper – Basic Black, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Hello Honey, Tangerine Tango, Sahara Sand

Accessories – Takeout Box, Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Accessory Pack, Circle Framelits, Big Shot, 1/4″, 1/2″ 3/4″ 1″ circle punches, banner punch

Now, go see what amazing creation Mary Brown has for you today!

SummerpromobadgeAnd just like that – it’s over.  Time sure does go by fast when you’re having fun!  The 4 week session of Create With Connie and Mary Summer 2014 is now over.  I’m so grateful for the subscribers and the kind notes they leave on our project posts – THANK YOU!  I hope you have many project tutorials lined up to make this summer with new products from our Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue.

And as always, the session ends with a designer challenge…

…A color challenge:

CCMCSUMMER14-04

Here’s how I used these colors:

CCMCSUMMER14-WEEK 4-2

These three colors immediately made me think “masculine” which made me in turn, think of the new stamp set “Traveler”.  I think it’s the perfect combo!!

Surprisingly, I did not use any other neutral color on this card like Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  I stamped the main images directly onto Sahara Sand using Early Espresso ink.  A bit of blue and green color was added to the main image with a Blender Pen and then all pieces were antiqued with their coordinating ink color.

Supplies used:

Stamps – Traveler, Itty Bitty Banners

Ink & Paper – Sahara Sand, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Early Espresso, Moonlight DSP

Accessories – Big Shot & Bitty Banners framelit, Argyle embossing folder, mini brads, dimensionals

Visit  Create With Connie and Mary to see what my fellow designers created with these colors.  Have a wonderful summer!
