Uppsy Daisy and New 2010 In Colors

I played with the new In Colors and came up with these two cards using the same layout.  I am surprised but I like the earthy colors better than the bright ones.  By themselves I like Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo better than Soft Suede and Dusty Durango but for this stamp set and the layout, the former works better for me.

Techniques used are sponging and Emboss Resist – one of my all-time favs.

New In Colors are Rich Razzleberry with Crushed Curry along with Old Olive (I hope that color never goes out of style!!)  Also used a new stamp set (to me anyway, not the catalogue) Flower Fancy.

One of the things I like about the new catalogue is the many samples I am eager to copy!  Every once in a while I will love a sample so much I don’t change it at all.  Most times, though, I love a particular layout but I’ll change the colors and stamp set, and voila – a new card!  This is what happened with this card.  I used the middle sample of page 53 in the 2009/2010 Idea Book and Catalogue and came up with this.  Check out your catalogue and compare this card to it – you’ll see the similarities!  If you don’t have a catalogue yet, come visit me on July 31st for my Open House and Rubber Garage Sale and pick up one, or click on the catalogue to view it on-line.
