So maybe you noticed a bit of an absence from me online the last two months…
…or maybe not…
…either way, I am here and have been working behind the scenes, but had to take a break from blogging.
Without sharing ALL the good, bad and the ugly details of my life…because they would bore you to tears…let me just say a few changes in my life made it such that a break was necessary. You see, back in October, my daughter, son-in-law and two adorable sons came to live with us. They moved here to Calgary and are STILL waiting for their home to be sold. So we moved all the rooms around to accommodate 4 more people and started working out a new family schedule.
THEN I accepted a part time job with my sister which pinched my time even more.
THEN my daughter accepted a full-time temporary position and with my son-in-law working as well, that left me as full-time babysitter. THAT was the straw really. I decided I needed to embrace all the changes in our life and just go with the flow for awhile. So some things had to be put on hold while I dedicated my days and evenings to my little grandsons. They won’t stay this little and precious very long and I don’t want to miss it – especially when I am so blessed to have them right here at my side for awhile!
I feel with January here, and I’m no longer watching the boys every minute, I can get back to blogging. My goal is two posts a week. The only real crimp in this plan is the fact I received a new laptop and camera for Christmas. As exciting as that sounds, and it really is exciting, new technology and updated programs are huge obstacles for me! It takes me 3 times longer to do anything these days as I figure out all the new technical stuff! Ugh!! But on the bright side, I’m hoping the photographs of the cards and projects I share will be more detailed and clear – not now perhaps, but soon! Fingers crossed!!
So with the new Occasions Catalogue out TODAY – it’s appropriate to celebrate – with balloons:

You may have just arrived here from Connie Babbert’s blog as we, the designers for the Create With Connie and Mary Holiday Collection, wind up each of the four weeks with a blog hop! And this week marks the fourth and final week of this session – so sad – but I’m SO pleased with all the gift giving and decorating ideas I now have for this holiday season! The projects and tutorials were all amazing!!
My project and tutorial this week uses this, my favorite stamp set of the Holiday Catalogue, Wondrous Wreath, so here is another idea for this stamp set:
This card is quick and easy as it requires no cutting with framelits or punching. I stamped the wreath images onto white cardstock and added a ribbon bow for some texture. Should you require many Christmas cards this year, this is a card you could mass produce with ease!!
You may be wondering where I found such thin Cherry Cobbler ribbon…
…well, I used the 1″ sheer linen ribbon in the catalogue and sliced off a 6″ length of the edging and then tied that into a bow.
Stamps – Wondrous Wreath
Ink & Paper – Trim the Tree DSP, Pistachio Pudding, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Accessories – corner rounder punch, Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon
I hope you enjoy our blog hop today and are now ready to get started on your cards and holiday gifts! But wait…you aren’t done yet…follow the link below to continue on to Bronwyn Eastley’s blog and see what she has created for today!

I was SOOOOO happy when the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set we were introduced to late last season, became available AGAIN this year in the Holiday Catalogue! I did not end up getting it last year so it’s pretty new to me and I was excited to get it out to create this weeks blog hop project!
I created a soft snowflake background by white embossing the snowflakes onto Crumb Cake cardstock and then sponging the edges with white ink. I used some embossing folders on the cardstock banners along with glimmer paper. And of course…rhinestones always finish things off nicely.
It’s a pretty easy card to put together but I really am happy with it’s beautiful simplicity. What are you inspired to create this week?
Stamps – Endless Wishes
Ink & Paper – Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Glimmer Paper
Accessories – white embossing powder, rhinestone gems, Decorative Label punch, oval punch, dimensional, baker’s twine
