CWCM Summer 2014 Week 4 Challenge

July 19th, 2014 | Comments (2)

SummerpromobadgeAnd just like that – it’s over.  Time sure does go by fast when you’re having fun!  The 4 week session of Create With Connie and Mary Summer 2014 is now over.  I’m so grateful for the subscribers and the kind notes they leave on our project posts – THANK YOU!  I hope you have many project tutorials lined up to make this summer with new products from our Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue.

And as always, the session ends with a designer challenge…

…A color challenge:

CCMCSUMMER14-04

Here’s how I used these colors:

CCMCSUMMER14-WEEK 4-2

These three colors immediately made me think “masculine” which made me in turn, think of the new stamp set “Traveler”.  I think it’s the perfect combo!!

Surprisingly, I did not use any other neutral color on this card like Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  I stamped the main images directly onto Sahara Sand using Early Espresso ink.  A bit of blue and green color was added to the main image with a Blender Pen and then all pieces were antiqued with their coordinating ink color.

Supplies used:

Stamps – Traveler, Itty Bitty Banners

Ink & Paper – Sahara Sand, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Early Espresso, Moonlight DSP

Accessories – Big Shot & Bitty Banners framelit, Argyle embossing folder, mini brads, dimensionals

Visit  Create With Connie and Mary to see what my fellow designers created with these colors.  Have a wonderful summer!

CWCM Summer Collection 2014 – Week 3 Challenge

July 12th, 2014 | Comments (3)

Summerpromobadge

I’m back from  my vacation in the woods just in time to see all the designer creations for this week’s Create With Connie and Mary Summer Collection challenge!  Yay!  This week has been all about cards!  Each of the Design Team picked one new set to feature and made up 4 different cards using it!  So there have been oodles of great card ideas shared.  It’s not too late to sign up and receive 4 weeks of projects and tutorials.  Visit Create With Connie and Mary to view.

To finish off week 3, here is this week”s challenge :

CCMCSUMMER14-03

What a fun sketch this is!  Here’s what I made:

CCMCSUMMER14-WEEK 3

I used the new Tap, Tap, Tap, stamp set and I just LOVE how the alphabet image worked so perfectly for this sketch!  Once I had figured out the color scheme I liked, the card came together in a snap – I love it when that happens!!

For the background, I used a graph paper pattern from the Moonlight DSP  package and the colors are Old Olive, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, and Sahara Sand.  I finished off the card with some new baker’s twine in Blushing Bride.

We’d love for you to join in on this challenge and see what you create with this sketch; so make a card today and post it to the Create With Connie and Mary site!
