Beautiful & Majestic Alaska

Grand Princess

So, last week I mentioned we were on a cruise.

We took the Grand Princess to Alaska.

Family photo

26 members of my immediate family!

Not quite everyone could come though…

we were missing my older daughters and their families. :(

My sweetheart Chris and I

Our younger girls who were lucky enough to come

Kessia (in back) starting grade 10 next week and

Kira (in front) leaving home and starting college this weekend

(insert mom’s heartbreak here!!!)

Mendenhall Glacier

The weather was incredible for the entire trip.

People who live in Alaska kept telling us how lucky we were.

That it hadn’t been sunny for three weeks before us.

We kept overdressing for our excursions!! :)

Whale Watching-2

While in Juneau, we decided to go on a whale watching tour

It was a spontaneous decision but one of the best we’ve ever made!

Whale Watching

Humpback whales were breaching all around us!

Again, the tour guides were telling us how lucky we were –

that they hadn’t seen that kind of action in 3 weeks!

I cannot tell you how incredible this was -

my spine was literally tingling!!

Butchart Gardens

Our last port was Victoria BC so we went on a tour of the world famous Butchart Gardens.

An incredible place that I would LOVE to visit again!

Flowers flowers everywhere.

The smell alone was intoxicating!

I was teased a little bit about my “flower camouflage” shirt! LOL

Only Bear

I really REALLY wanted to see some bears in Alaska

but this was the only bear I got to see.

Spirit of the Wolf

I got just a little goofy during the tour of the

Tracy Arm Fjord.

Please forgive me – it was 7:00 a.m.!!!

I’m with my wonderful dad here.

He’s the reason we were able to create these amazing memories.

Thanks for letting me share just a smidgen of my photos and stories today.

Big News sample-2

I have two versions of a baby card today to share – a boy card and a girl card!  Isn’t it just so sweet?!

This card is super easy to make as well!!

Step 1 – choose a color scheme.  Cut out a large circle and small heart using framelits.

Step 2 – stamp sentiment using Stazon black ink and color with coordinating markers.

Step 3 – assemble; I used glue dots to adhere the small heart to the balloon which allowed me to  tie coordinating baker’s twine around and secure.  Adhere baker’s twine here and there with Mono Multi-Purpose Adhesive.

Supplies used:

Stamps – Big News

Ink & Paper – Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Stazon black ink

Accessories – Circle framelits, Hearts framelits, rhinestone gems, baker’s twine

Pretty simple but super fun to put together!
