CCMC-OCC1 – My First Challenge Card

It’s time for the first Create with Connie and Mary Spring Edition 2013 challenge – and it’s MY very first challenge as well!!  It’s not too late to join – we just finished week 1 of the 5 weeks of fun and unique projects and exclusive tutorials.  Join today for $34.95 and you get full access to all 5 weeks of inspiration.

The first challenge is a colour challenge – here it is:

And here is what I came up with:

Because it was a colour challenge, I decided I wanted to use some of my new favourite products.  So that absolutely had to include the Honeycomb embossing folder – my VERY favourite new thing.  And I knew I had to use a paper doily, just cause they’re beautiful.  Which led me to my last new favourite – the stamp set – Cross My Heart!  What do you think?

Card base – Primrose Petals

Card front – Pool Party embossed with  Honeycomb folder and stamped with butterfly image; wrap with baker’s twine

Window Frame – cut from Primrose Petals cardstock and adhere to doily

Embossed Circle – punch from Real Red cardstock (2 1/2″ circle) and emboss with Elegant Lines folder

Stamp – ink happy birthday image with black ink and stamp on Very Vanilla cardstock; cut out image and attach to cardfront using dimensionals

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary And while you are there…make sure to sign up so you can play along!

What a fun idea for a birthday card. I just love all those great new products you’ve used too. Can’t wait for your project on Create with Connie & Mary. Thanks again

  2. I love how you put all the elements of this card together. The texture on the red circle really helps set it off!

  3. Your card is absolutely delightful! I am totally drawn in by how you layered the embossed red circle on the primrose window framelit shape. Smiles, Elizabeth
