It’s the time of year when we say good-bye to many of our annual catalogue favorites and get ready to be amazed by another NEW annual catalogue.

Click on the above links to view the products that are available only until supplies last (excluding stamp sets – they can be ordered right up until May 31st)

As you look at the retired accessories list, you’ll note that all  of our Stampin’ Pads are listed. This is for two reasons:

 (1) Craft  Stampin’ Pads will now only be available in black and white; and

(2) Stampin’Up! is introducing a new Firm Foam pad in Classic Stampin’ Pads with  the 2012-2013 annual catalog.

The Firm Foam pads offer better ink coverage and, in turn,  better stamped images. They will be available for order on June 1.

In addition, please note the following changes in the new catalog, which explain some of the products appearing on the retired list:

• Only select Stampin’ Write Markers will be available  individually (Stampin’ Write Markers in color collections will continue  to be offered)
• 12″ x 12″ Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered.
• 12″ x 12″ Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections.
• Any item with an asterisk next to it is being reconfigured.  An example of this could be repackaging, as in the example above of the markers.
• Craft Ink Pads (other than black or white per above) and Craft Refills will no longer be offered.
• Classic Ink Refills (other than the retiring 2010-2012 In Colors) will still be available.
• Stampin’ Spots are being discontinued.  Stampin’ Up! may possibly reconfigure & sell some of the Classic Ink Spots.
• Other than the retiring 2010-2012 In Colors, the Stampin’ Up! colors are NOT retiring.

This is the third card for stamp club yesterday using the Medallion background stamp.  It is a repeat of a favorite wedding card from a couple of years ago.  Stamp the medallion on Whisper White using Versamark; heat emboss with white or clear powder.  Sponge ink color of your choice over image – DONE!

My hostess for tomorrow’s stamps club chose the Medallion background stamp as the featured stamp set.  These are the three cards we will be making – hopefully they showcase what this stamp can do.

The card on the left, was featured last week as part of the Mixed Bunch set sampler.  It’s details are here.

The second card has a simple layout with the Medallion used to create a tone-on-tone offset background.  Classy and beautiful.

Last month, I challenged my stamp club members to make a masculine card for the club challenge in March.  All who participated had their name entered into a draw for these prizes – jumbo pearls found in the Occasions Mini Catalogue!

I’m currently in Montana with my sister and 5 of our children enjoying Spring Break.  Spring is definitely here!!!  We have seen butterflies, green grass, bugs and a robin – none of which we will see in Calgary for another 6 weeks I’m sure!  We will enjoy it while we are here – I’ll be back online at the end of the week.

This week, I will be sharing the projects we made last week at stamp club.

You may recognize this card a bit if you study your catalogue as much as I do!  LOL  I used the layout idea from the Simply Sent Great Day pre-printed cards (found on page 192) as inspiration for my card using Circle Circus. 

I often get asked where my inspiration comes from when designing cards or projects.  I honestly use the Idea Book and Catalogue most of the time for inspiration.  When I sit down to make a card, I immediately grab my catalogue and start flipping through pages until something catches my eye.  It might be a color combo, layout idea, embelishment or a way the designers at Stampin’Up!  have used a stamp set.  Then I just run with that idea and make it my own.
