I love this new large Doily Sizzlit for wrapping little things!  In this case, I wrapped a package of Certs in Twitterpated DSP and placed it in a Soft Suede cut doily.  It’s simple but elegant!

Canadian Smarties are very different from the Smarties you get in the U.S.  Ours are chocolate drops coated with a candy shell, in all sorts of colors.  Of course I had to bring some to my friends at Leadership!

This year, I’m doing something a little different with my stamp clubs.

Every month, I offer them, Natasha’s Special Challenge.  If they undertake this challenge, they get their name entered into a draw for a prize.  For October, these are the prizes:

A mini set of Antique Brads!

How cute are these?  If I won this prize, I’m not sure I would use the brads – it’s that cute!

Packaged in our new 1″x 8″cello bags and tied with a simple tag, these brads get the royal treatment.  And so will my stamp club ladies IF they participated in this month’s challenge which was to create a card inspired by a piece of clothing.  At their stamp club meetings, they were told they could be inspired by a color combination, a pattern, an embellishment, or anything to do with a piece of clothing.

I can’t wait to see what they have come up with!  I also can’t wait to give out some prizes!!

My sister held a bridal shower for Chalisse on Friday and she did a great job!!  She took care of all the invitations, food, games, and set up.  All I was asked to do as mother of the bride, was to provide some party favors for the guests to take home as a “thanks for attending” momento. 

I wanted to incorporate a bit of Chalisse into these party favors.  Her favorite thing in the world is cookie dough so I came up with a cute way to wrap up some for everybody.  It was a hit!!

I had to use some non-SU paper as I needed 35 sheets in her wedding colors.  I did use Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake cardstock, Boho Blossoms and 5-Petal Flower punches to make the flower embellishment.  Chocolate Chip satin ribbon finished off the ends.

While previewing the new Summer Mini Catalogue last month, I was inspired by the new Designer Series Paper pack, Beyond the Garden, to create some beach themed items.  Beach bags immediately came to mind! 

I always seem to be collecting a new beach bag every year (mostly cause I can’t find the previous year’s one!)  and I love the fun bright colors they all have and of course, their capacity to hold lots of items for a day outdoors.  So, to stay true to the purpose of a real beach tote bag, I created these three replicas keeping space in mind.

All three totes are large and strong enough to be used as gift bags for that special summer or Hawaiian themed party:

There may not be any stamping involved in this project, but Stampin’ Up! sure provided us some great products to play with in the Occasions Mini Catalogue! 

I admired all the tote bags I saw at Leadership back in January, and decided I needed to try making a few.  Did you know that you could create a tote bag without cutting and carefully measuring pieces?  Yes you can!  You cut out scallop squares with the Big Shot and sew them together.  I used the Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric found on page 16.  The colors in this fabric as well as the matching DSP, are delicious!

I’d love to hear if you have tried  using either of the fabric offerings in the Occasions Mini.  What have you used it for?

How many of you give out a plate of cookies at Christmas? 

HaHa!! I knew it – lots of you!!!  Me too!

This year, let’s throw away those paper plates and plastic wrap and give cookies away in this!

I was able to fit a dozen cookies in this box – the dimensions are 2 3/4″ x 6 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ .

 Here’s the step-by step instructions for you:

Step 1:

Stamp a 12″x 12″piece of cardstock as desired.  I used Bravo Burgundy, Bells & Boughs stamp set and shimmer paint.

Score one side at 2 3/4″ and 9 1/4″; turn cardstock 90 degrees and score at 2 3/4″, 5 1/2″, 8 1/4″, and 11″.

Step 2:

Cut off the two un-neccessary thin ends.

Step 3:

Cut on all horizontal score lines up to intersecting score lines – this creates your side ends.

Step 4:

Cut off  1  3/4″ off set of 1st tab ends. This creates the box lid…

Step 5:

Round all 4 lid corners.

Step 6:

Create a 2 1/2″x 4 3/8″ rectrangular template; lay template on box top and trace; cut out with paper cutter.

Cut a piece of acetate sheet to 3 1/2″x 5 1/2″ and adhere to inside of box covering the window.

Step 7:

Fold on all score lines folding the acetate sheet as you go.

Step 8:

 Apply double-sided tape to the last two tabs on each end as shown in photo above.  Fold up box starting at far end and finished at box lid.  Fold lid into box with tabs on the inside.

Decorate as desired…then send me a link or photo of your creation- I want to see!!!
