Today’s project is inspired by the sample found on page 96 of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue:

I have loved this card since my first flip through of the book!  Here is my version:

I love how it turned out!!  This is a stamp club project for the month of November where I will be showing the “Grid Technique”.  My girlfriend and downline LeAnne suggested I show this technique as her group loved it and the projects she designed for them.  I’m glad I took her advice because the simple addition of some score lines really adds a surprising elegance to the card.  So I ran with this “elegance” concept and added elegant snowflake images from the Serene Snowflakes stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalogue along with some Platinum Shimmer Paint.  When I look at this card, I feel like I’m looking out through an old church window into the quiet snow storm outside.  I’ll tell you again how much I love this look!!!

Here is a close up of the stamped background:

I wasn’t even concerned with the incomplete images that happen when you stamp over score lines.  It adds to the whole effect.  I sponged some Bordering Blue ink over the stamped images to help soften the look even further.  I’m so excited to share this card with my stamp club members next week!

Supplies Used:

Stamps – Serene Snowflakes, All Holidays, Christmas Punch

Paper – Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, Baroque Burgundy, Whisper White

Ink – Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, Platinum Shimmer Paint

Accessories – paper trimmer with score blade, sponges, eyelet border punch, Winter White EP, heat gun, silver cord, 1/16″ hole punch, silver brad, Boho Blossoms punch

TTFN!
