This week’s project inspiration came from page 20 of the catalogue:

I really love these cute matchboxes which can be filled with all sorts of fun little treats and goodies.  I especially love the way the Stampin’ Up! designers decorated them.  They are adorable!!

So when I needed a WOW project for my Christmas Card Class attendees to make, I used these for inspiration.  Here’s what I created:

When creating this project specifically designed for my card class, I needed something a little larger than the matchbox.  This box fits the bill exactly!  It measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and is 1″ deep.

As you can see, I followed the designers lead almost to the letter when I decorated my box. The main difference is of course the “window” I created in the box cover.  I did this with my favorite new tool this year – the Movers and Shapers die for the Big Shot.  I stamped an ornament in white Stazon ink on an acetate sheet and secured it behind the window.   The flocked Designer Series Paper gives this box a bit of an elegant touch in real life.

I think this is going to be a perfect box to hold a dozen of my homemade chocolates this year – cheaper and way more cute than going to buy boxes at a store!!

Supplies used:

Stamps – Delightful Decorations

Paper – Christmas Cocoa dsp, Whisper White, Old Olive, Real Red

Ink – White Stazon, Real Red

Accessories – Scallop edge punch, Movers and Shapers die, Big Shot, Old Olive Striped ribbon

TTFN!
