Catalogue Inspiration #3
ByAs I was preparing card samples this week for my upcoming Christmas Card Class, I found some inspiration from this card found in the catalogue on page 130:
Here is what I came up with:
I liked the soft edges of the inset on the catalogue sample so copied that and the ribbon placement. Everything else – I changed!
I used the Patterned Pines set, a very popular hostess set with my customers, and added a snowflake background on the Mellow Moss cardfront. Instead of adding a strip of red color just on the right-hand side as in the sample, I added an entire mat of Real Red under the focal point, giving it a bit more “pop”. You can’t see from the photo how wonderfully sparkly these trees are – you’ll have to take my word for it (or make one for yourself!) I used Andrea Walford’s technique of combining reinkers with the new Shimmer Paint. You just combine a bit of each in a small container, sponge or dab it onto your stamp and VOILA…you have a beautiful shimmery image. Out of all the card samples I have made this week, my girls have all commented on this one because it shines! Then, just to take it one step further, I added a red Rhinestone brad for a grand finish. Oh, and if your wondering where the sentiment came from, I used a portion of the stamp in Season of Joy, inked it with Mellow Moss and Real Red markers and punched it out with the Curly Label punch.
I hope you are inspired to flip through your catalogue today and find some inspiration to create your own work of art!
TTFN!

That is beautiful! I have the shimmer paints but haven’t broken them out yet. Gotta do that!
