Catalogue Inspiration #2
ByIt’s Thursday today so that means another Catalogue Inspiration! Each Thursday, I post a card I have made that was directly inspired by a sample in the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue.
Here is my catalogue inspired card for this week. I hope you like it – it will be one of the projects we make at my 6th Annual Christmas Card Class:
Here’s the card (found on page 110 of the catalogue) I was inspired by:
As you can see, this week I used the same stamp set, Lovely as a Tree, for my sample and pretty much kept the layout the same. I did change the colors used to Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Bashful Blue. Some of the other changes It took this card “up a notch” I think. For instance, I embossed the large tree using Old Olive Craft ink and Irridescent Ice EP. I also texturized the Olive background with the Perfect Details Sizzix Texturz plate and of course, sponged with some Creamy Caramel ink for added dimension. I changed the ribbon bow to a mini library clip to hold the sentiment and added a bit of Chocolate Chip scallop to the layout as well.
I love the addition of the button on the tree in the catalogue sample but haven’t come up with an alternative yet. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them because I still feel something is needed on the tree. I would also like to see any samples you come with. Hope to hear from you!
TTFN!
Natasha
